CRIMINAL #1 - New Comic Underway

In tandem with the MBTF comics, I shall be producing some shorter stories of crime gone wrong in the big, bad city. This first issue is based on a true story my Granny uncovered - a tale full of death, thievery, lies, suspense and domestic pets. It's currently being inked - here's a few pencil scans.

A Rebours Zine Fest

Flogging things at The Old Blue Last in't capital. It was a bank holiday, it was not busy, we drunk, we ran out of money, we got hold of more money and went for a curry - happy days if unprofitable ones!

This shot - featuring Miho Lomon, Johnny Scarr and Pat Milsom - this is incidentally the first photo I've taken for yonkers like. I couldn't ask for a prettier line up.

Metal Between Two Faces - Issue No.1

Here's the working cover drawings and watercolour/ink final for one cover side of an upcoming comic release. Apparently the main female looks like me with breasts; as I spend more time sat at desks, drawing, painting, computering etc. I find even that's something we're starting to have in common.

Metal Between Two Faces- new comic

Metal Between Two Faces
Hot on the heels of my first comic ('Anne Phetamine' which was done nearly 10 years ago and was about as good as the title suggests) comes this 13 page - issue 1 of hopefully many. Will post again when some form of publishing is on the horizon.
The plot follows ehh... well, you'll get the gist when you read it.

As this blog just kicked off, I thought I'd post some recent-ish work links just so I don't forget how I've been constructively ruining the planet over 2009. This animation was completed after years of on-off evenings twisting my spine over home made lightboxes. It's a tribute to the daily life of the pub chef - which I was at the time.

LeftLion - Ghosts of Nottingham - Galleries of Justice

Galleries of Justice

'Before the days of telly, people amused themselves by taking the family down to the Shire Hall (Galleries of Justice) or Gallows Hill (the crossroads of Mansfield Road and Forest Road East) to watch criminals get what was coming to them – death, in case you were wondering. Vantage points were so in demand that locals who had houses overlooking would hire out their rooms so people could get a better view.'

LeftLion - Ghosts of Nottingham - The Salutation Inn

The Salutation Inn

'As one of the oldest pubs in the country, The Sal has been around long enough to have gathered a huge gang of ghosts. A highwayman is said to draw his pistols and wander between the pub and the caves below, A playful four-year-old girl likes to move things around, a past landlord who may or may not have accidentally drunk poison still hangs about, and there's even a disfigured prostitute by the name of Jezebel.'

LeftLion - Ghosts of Nottingham

The Old Angel

Drawn (back from the afterworld) these characters inhabit a variety of venues of historical note in Nottingham - England. The original article was featured in Notts own LeftLion mag with Alison Emm as the writer. http://www.leftlion.co.uk/articles.cfm/id/2306

The Old Angel is a rock/metal pub and dates all they way back to the 1600s, and was formerly a chapel and a brothel (but not at the same time, obviously). The former is represented by cellar caves that are hollowed in the shape of a crucifix, while the latter gave the pub a prostitute who was murdered 200 years ago, who still haunts the place to this day. It is also said to be home to a singing, fruitmachine-playing ghost which doesn’t seem too bad a way to while away your after-life.
